Fashion, beyond clothing, reflects cultural diversity. Designers draw from varied cultures, traditions, crafting unique designs fostering multicultural appreciation. The project's focal concept is to bring together emerging textile designers, cultural artisans, and individuals from diverse backgrounds for a collaborative collection creation that delves into local folklore while producing unique products. Driven by principles of social inclusion and environmental sustainability, the project places a strong emphasis on nurturing creative assets rather than focusing on limitations. Dedicated to promoting European artists, it ensures their skills are not only acknowledged but also amplified globally. The project actively engages artists facing various obstacles, in co-creative initiatives, creating an environment that combats cognitive decline and guarantees their involvement in cultural pursuits on an international scale. This holistic approach aims to enrich cultural appreciation, foster creativity, and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable creative landscape across Europe. Over 32 months, it aims to: • Foster transnational creation and global circulation of European works and artists, strengthening culture and creative industries through strategic international collaborations for a more interconnected and inclusive cultural landscape. • Promote awareness and understanding of social inclusion, particularly emphasizing the diverse experiences of people with mental health challenges, victims of war or migrant women. • Enhance well-being through creative expression, fostering achievement, recognition, and social connections. • Facilitate access of disadvantage groups to cultural and arts activities. To make the MUSE project a reality, we count on with several European social organizations active in textile design and cultural sectors: Fundación INTRAS (Spain), CARITAS UKRAINE (Ukraine), MIGRANT WOMEN ASSOCIATION MALTA (Malta) and KAOS (Belgium).

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO

It is demonstrated that art can be very beneficial for the prevention of mental health problems, especially for vulnerable young adults who are in an increased danger to develop mental health issues. One of the main reasons that create mental health problems to young people is their ""disconnection"" with themselves, with the other people and their environment. Using the ""Art of Connection"" as the basis of the method, the project is aiming to develop a toolkit with resources and materials that can be used in order to prevent mental health problems to vulnerable young people through the use of art-based methods (music, movement, painting, narration). Based on the toolkit, the project is aiming to develop the skills of artists to organise effective training programs for the prevention of mental health problems through art for young adults. Through face to face and online workshops, the project is aiming to mainstream the methods and support a high number of professionals to use them. The project also is going to organise 30 workshops and art events with at least 300 young people in order to support them to prevent mental health problems. Overall, the project is expected to improve significantly the capacity of the art sector to improve the mental health for young adults.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO

The HeritageLens project emerges from a pressing need to address the escalating threats of climate change to Europe's cultural heritage. As climate change jeopardizes iconic heritage sites, the project aims to shift the narrative from traditional conservation to illuminating the resilience of communities against climate change. The project leverages the collective resources and expertise of four established photography centers (in Italy, Latvia, Poland, and Spain), with extensive experience in photography training, curation, exhibitions and festivals. It advocates for interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together emerging photographers, cultural heritage experts, and environmental activists to foster a holistic understanding of the challenges. The project's cornerstone is transnational interdisciplinary workshops, in a hybrid format to reach a wider audience, cultivating cross-disciplinary interactions. Concurrently, 12 selected emerging European photographers from different contries will embark on a collaborative exploration, capturing cultural heritage's resilience in diverse contexts. The project balances individual creativity with guidance, aiming to weave these narratives into a cohesive portrayal of climate change impacts. The curated exhibition, presented in participating coutriesn and beyond, complemented by a digital publication and a good practices manual, serve as platforms to engage the genaral public in dialogue and reflection on this issue. The project's ambition is not only to raise awareness but to facilitate the transnational creation and circulation of European artistic works, bridging the gap between awareness and action. HeritageLens aspires to transcend national boundaries, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the shared challenges faced by European societies and inspiring a sense of responsibility toward climate action and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Morena Films is presenting its 2023 Slate in order to broaden the European and international scope of its projects, as well as increase their overall size and ambition. Its ultimate goal is to stablish itself as one of the main independent producers in the continent, while weaving a powerful net of partners and allies. In order to do so, Morena has selected 4 feature films and 1 series off of all its projects in development, which it believes better reflect both its artistic prowess and its capacity to reach global audiences. They're all either stories by exciting emerging talents, previously recognized by Media and whose films have enjoyed a solid festival circuit; or by big stablished names in the Spanish industry which will now try to expand to other markets and territories with more ambitious, international projects. All of them organically suggest interesting collaborations with partners from all over Europe (as you'll see in the documentation attached), which will make of them suitable candidates for landmark events across the continent. Since its foundation in 1999, Morena has always advocated for European stories and talent, as its trajectory clearly shows, and still firmly believes that we must defend our cinema and television in an everchanging and often harsh environment. For all the good they've done, players from other regions and backgrounds have too often exerted too much power and influence over our industry, virtually suffocating our local stories and IP. On our side, Spain in particular, we might have also neglected our European peers, almost always directing our attention inwards or towards other territories away from the continent. Knowing all this, Morena has put together a Slate that believes will truly uphold the European values that make up for such fantastic stories, while also encouraging collaboration across countries and the overall betterment of society. For that has always been our fundamental mission: to make movies that matter.

Communities, along with professionals from the creative and cultural industries (CCIs) and artists have come together to form successful joint ventures that address environmental challenges. 'Art Living Lab to Repair the Land' focuses on the concept of ""ruins of modernity"" (Crocker and Chiveralls, 2018), applied to those social and environmental legacies that remain in territories after having been exploited for a certain economic activity that was subsequently abandoned when it was no longer profitable, causing damage. Art and culture foster inclusive spaces for collective innovation, promoting cross-sector participatory practices. Through the Living Lab methodology three participatory processes will allow citizens to explore their desires and anticipate futures for these “capitalist ruins” (Tsing, 2015). These processes will establish a citizen commission that will be answered through Nature-Based Artistic Solutions -in line with current European policies such as the New European Bauhaus or the 2030 Agenda- developed by internationally renowned artists. For a just transition, regions most impacted by industrial intensification in agriculture, energy and electrical production must create new collective aesthetic regimes fostering alternative lifestyles and stronger community bonds. In addition to the participatory processes and works of art, the project will also generate the publication ‘Repair the Land’, public workshops, and public training sessions to enhance the capacity of CCIs to intervene in the transition to a more cohesive way of living between us and with the planet. Thanks to that, the project can be defined as Practice-Based Research. The project will be led by three entities with huge experience in participatory artistic projects at the European level: Concomitentes (ES), Kunstverein Rügen e.V. (DE) and Association for Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Research (HR), along with RIA Foundation (ES).

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO

Girls ACTing For Empowerment - #ACTFEM is a groundbreaking 28-month initiative spanning Spain, Romania, and Greece. This project strategically harnesses the transformative power of culture, focusing on theatre, performing arts, and applied digital technologies, to provide essential opportunities for youth, especially vulnerable women aged 16 to 20. #ACTFEM aims to equip them with vital tools for critical thinking and self-empowerment, breaking cycles of dependency, reshaping social and family paradigms, and ensuring societal inclusion for sustainable community development. At the core of #ACTFEM is a meticulously designed 2-year hands-on training programme in CCSI, tailored to the needs of 60 young vulnerable women. It includes the active participation of highly skilled artists, cultural and technology experts, international exchanges and mobility, co-creation, access to cultural institutions, and comprehensive training covering various roles and professions required to manage a small theatre company. Beneficiaries will form theatre groups in each country, collaboratively creating three interconnected plays innovatively integrating digital technologies with a sustainability outlook. These productions will be showcased locally and internationally. To ensure #ACTFEM's success, academic research and evaluation will emphasize an intersectional perspective, maintaining high-quality tools and methods and fostering programme replication by trained artists, cultural professionals, and teachers. #ACTFEM addresses critical issues like gender equality, diversity, climate change, mental health, among others. A social media campaign will raise awareness of European youth, featuring young vulnerable beneficiaries as role models of their peers, actively dispelling biases and stereotypes.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO

WECARE strengthens social cohesion by rising the environmental awareness across several agents. Through Action-Research methodology vulnerable communities will identify, value and share assets upon which a sustainable, convivial and healthy environment is built. The overarching objective of WECARE is to establish a replicable methodology that may empower residents in their agency to improve their living conditions. To that end the project will develop three specific lines of action: 1. participatory socio-environmental diagnosis, 2. collective heritagization of ecosystem commons 3. the implementation of direct artistic actions by residents on public spaces. These lines will mutually interact along an iterative process that will inform the following outcomes: capacity building for residents to care for public space and its environmental qualities; guidebook of ecosystem commons sustainable management; and training of present and future professionals able to further develop similar projects. Based on previous knowledge within the consortium, three residential estates in Krakow, Bucharest and Barcelona are suggested as pilot areas, as they are paradigmatic case studies of nowadays socio-environmental conflicts. They altogether cover a diverse set of conditions -size, cultural diversity, geo-climate conditions – so that the replicability of the project may be feasible. The proposed consortium gathers expertise in the required knowledge areas (co-desing processes, artistic action, urban planning, material & immaterial heritage). It also relies on the potential synergies of diverse institutional capacities such as research institutions, artistic collectives, socially focused NGO, museums and cultural entities and professional organizations. The project is dimensioned for 24 months and will be deployed in the following stages: Preparation, Community Engagement, Performative Action, Evaluation, Devolution & Basis for Continuation.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO

‘We are 17 (21st century)’ is a collaborative project of photography that brings together professional photographers, cultural mediators, young and elderly people from Lithuania, Romania and Spain. Inspired by the project We are 17 (1955) by Johan van der Keuken, we will create a photographic portrait of Europe today. Guided by recognised photographers, 200 adolescents will portray both people who are 17 years old and people who belong to the generation of van der Keuken. The main aims of the project: 1) to promote photography and the artworks by Johan Van der Keuken whose creation belongs to the European cultural heritage but is not well-known outside the Netherlands and France; 2) to establish a dialogue between the cultures of two different generations and three different countries; 3) to reflect on the changes of European society in the last 70 years (1955-2025). An important element of the project is the collective exhibition that will be presented in Vilnius (Vytautas Kasiulis Museum of Art), Timisoara (‘Corneliu Miklosi’ Public Transport Museum) and Barcelona (CCCB - Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona). It will encompass the original photographs of Van der Keuken and the photographs taken in 2024 by young project participants from diverse, mostly vulnerable, contexts. Consequently, young and adult people who lack access to cultural institutions will be directly involved into cultural life. The exhibition will be complemented with a programme of interdisciplinary actions for the young and general audiences: debates, screenings of films selected by young film programmers, sound workshops and seminars on oral history. Additionally, a digital exhibition catalogue including a selection of the photographs, reflections by experts and methodological resources will be published. The project will reach more than 50.000 people: youth, elders, photographers, cultural mediators, teachers, and general audience from 9 European countries (5 in EU).

Tilling Roots and Seeds aims to enhance European cultural cooperation and capacity for artistic research and practice on the topic of the plants biodiversity crisis and sustainable food system in Europe. The project intends to broaden the participation of the cultural sector in the ongoing common effort to regenerate the EU food system. For Tilling Roots and Seeds this implies finding collaborative ways to discover, regenerate and narrate the work of the farmers in every aspect, by working in a way that is interconnected and in harmony with the natural world and respectful of future generations. The project also supports the role of art as a tool to awaken a critical understanding of climate change, that sheds light on how humans generate and affect it through the current food consumption systems. The project assumes that innovative solutions require the engagement of those involved in farming and food production as well as the voice of communities, as innovation can derive also from traditional knowledge. The overall objective of Tilling Roots and Seeds is to foster the involvement of the European creative community in facilitating the EU cultural shift towards a society that is based on a sustainable food system. This proposal builds upon the lessons learned through the EU funded project Roots and Seeds XXI. It further expands the capabilities and opportunities of the EU creative sector to contribute to fight the biodiversity crisis and the environmental degradation of our times and opens up opportunities for artists to collaborate with the scientific and farming sectors to imagine future sustainable scenarios. It also transfers knowledge and disseminates good practices and results to the cultural and scientific sector as well as to the general public. In this second phase, the project will also engage food consumers, particularly young people, and promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being of current and future generations.
